Parks Guide

In early 2011, the City of College Station Parks and Recreation Department engine was humming. Dozens of recreation programs, special events, and park improvement projects were in full swing. There was only one problem – there was no resource for residents to find out what was going on.

Sure, College Station had flyers. But they only highlighted one event at a time, and hundreds of them were scattered on bulletin boards all over town. City staff needed a consolidated resource to hit bigger audiences and cross-promote all of its recreation programs.

I worked with department staff to design a comprehensive seasonal guidebook with information on aquatics, athletics, special events, senior programs, and park locations and amenities. With my help developing the layout, graphics, photos and content, the City of College Station now prints thousands of guides at the beginning of spring, summer and fall each year.
