75th Anniversary
The City of College Station recognized its 75th anniversary in 2013 with a 3,000 square-foot exhibit at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum titled College Station: A Community History. The exhibit featured hundreds of local memorabilia, artifacts and stories highlighting the unique history of College Station, Texas, from before its incorporation in 1938 to today.
Displayed items were grouped into various segments highlighting legacy families, homes, schools, businesses, media and government in College Station. The Bush Library offered free public admission at the exhibit’s grand opening, and the city hosted a vintage car show, train rides, and live entertainment.
